What are the benefits of wedding in the Czech Republic or wedding in Prague for foreigners?
Protože je to obvykle ekonomicky úspornější varianta, alespoň takovou zkušenost máme od našich snoubenců, kdy jeden z páru byl v naší zemi cizincem. Přesunout svatbu do ČR bylo pro takové snoubence vždy racionálním rozhodnutím, protože české části rodiny by se nevyplatilo nakupovat letenky do zahraničí, naopak část rodiny ze zahraničí vnímala obvykle návštěvu Prahy jako low-cost výlet s přidanou hodnotou.
The answer is simple, it is economical matter. Czech part of the family can't afford to purchase air tickets to abroad usually, conversely family of foreigners is always happy to visit Prague and they perceive it as a cheap trip. That's why prague wedding is a rational decision.

V případě, že již máte vybrané místo obřadu, musíte se nejprve obrátit na matriční úřad, který zajišťuje sňatky ve správním obvodu, ve kterém si přejete manželství uzavřít. Na matrice se poté domluvíte na konkrétním termínu, času a místě svatebního obřadu. Nemusíte se brát v oficiální oddací síni, pokud si přejete obřad v místě, kde budete mít hostinu a svatební party, jistě se s matrikáři domluvíte.
If you have already chosen your place for the wedding ceremony, the second step should be caling the register office in administrative district you wish to get married in. There you can book the wedding date, time and place. It differs region by region, but in many you might need an interpreter to help you with translation. It is not necessary to get married in official marriage hall, if you wish to move you ceremony to the place where the wedding feast and party should be, just arrange everything with the registrar.
Jaké doklady potřebují cizinci?
What type of documents foreigners need?
• Doklad totožnosti
• Rodný list
• Doklad o státním občanství
• Doklad o právní způsobilosti k uzavření manželství (ne starší jak 6 měsíců)
• Potvrzení o osobním stavu a místě trvalého pobytu (pokud není součástí dokladu o právní způsobilosti)
• Úmrtní list manžela (vdovci jej mají přímo v dokladu o právní způsobilosti) nebo partnera.
• Pravomocný rozsudek o rozvodu manželství nebo zrušení partnerství
• Potvrzení od Policie ČR o oprávněnosti pobytu na území ČR - ne starší, než 7 pracovních dnů (neplatí pro státy EU a EHP)
• Passport (or ID for EU cizitizens)
• Birth certificate
• Proof of citizenship
• Proof of legal competence for marriage (not older than 6 months)
• Confirmation of your current marital status and place of residence (if not part of proof of legal competence)
• Husband's Death Certificate (widowers have it in a proof of legal capacity)
• Final divorce decree or partnership cancellation
• Confirmation of residency in the Czech republic issued by the Police of the Czech Republic - no older than 7 working days (doesn't apply for EU and EEA)
Veškeré výše uvedené dokumenty musí mít cizinci opatřeny předepsanými ověřeními a přeloženy do českého jazyka.
All documents above have to be certified and translated to Czech language.
Doklady, které předkládají občané České republiky s trvalým pobytem
Documents submitted by Czech citizens with permanent residence
• Rodný list nebo úředně ověřenou kopii
• Občanský průkaz České republiky či platný cestovní doklad České republiky
(v případě pasu je nutné doložit i výpis z evidence obyvatel o osobním stavu a místě trvalého pobytu) nebo listinou o nabytí či udělení státního občanství ČR (ne starší než 1 rok)
• Pravomocný rozsudek o rozvodu manželství nebo úmrtní list manžela;
Úředně ověřený výpis z knihy registrovaného partnerství nebo úmrtní list zemřelého partnera
• Birth certificate or certified copy
• Identity card of the Czech Republic or a valid passport (with the passport you have to present also marital status and place of residence confirmation) or deed of acquisition of Czech citizenship (not older than 1 year)
• Final divorce dicree or husband's death certificate
Certified extract from the book of registered partnerships or death certificate of the deceased partner
V případě osoby nezletilé a starší 16 let či osoby s duševní poruchou také rozhodnutí soudu o povolení uzavřít manželství.
In the case of minors (but older than 16 years) or people with mental disorder also a decision of the court for permission to marry.
Poplatky spojené s uzavřením manželství s cizincem
Fees related to getting married to a foreigner
V případě, že snoubenci nemají trvalý pobyt na území ČR, hradí poplatek ve výši 3.000 Kč. V případě, že jen jeden ze snoubenců má trvalý pobyt na území ČR, hradí poplatek 2.000Kč.
If the engaged couple doesn't have a permanent residence in the Czech Republic, the fee is 3.000 CZK. If one of them has a permanent residence in the Czech Republic, the fee is 2.000 CZK.
Pokud se manželství uzavírá mimo úředně určenou místnost, snoubenci platí správní poplatek 1.000 Kč.
If the marriage takes place outside the officially designated room, there is an administrative fee 1.000 CZK.

Pokud jeden z páru nemluví nebo nerozumí česky, je němý či neslyšící, je nutná přítomnost tlumočníka. Zajištění tlumočníka je na vlastní náklad snoubenců.
If one of the engaged couple doesn't speak or understands Czech or if she/he is mute or deaf, this situation requires presence of an interpreter. The cost for the interpreter is covered by the engaged couple.
